Sexual Harassment and Diversity Training
Effective January 1, 2005, California Gov. Code ß12950.1 (part of the Fair Employment and Housing Act - FEHA) requires all employers with 50+ employees to provide, at a minimum, 2-hours of interactive, effective sexual harassment prevention training and education for all individuals who supervise other workers.
New supervisors must receive training within six months of their hire or promotion date. Additionally, all supervisors must receive re-training every two years.
Recommendations for Training
Legal and Human Resource professionals strongly recommend companies utilize an experienced neutral third party to provide instructional workshops on sexual harassment prevention.
